Meet the Artist.
Blair Maule (born 1972) is a multidisciplinary artist working in sculpture, writing, film and music and uses speculative fabulation to tell stories and fables.
He graduated from The Open College of The Arts in 2024 with an MA in Fine Art researching the effects of climate devastation on human and non-human species.
“I want to create a narrative within my practice that makes people feel engaged, and provides topics of debate and discussion to understand how society looks at climate devastation, political greed and man’s desire for wealth and power, and how that relates to current global threats."

The Luminescent Guardians: MA Fine Art Showcase.
The story is set 2000 years in the future on the planet of Tau Ceti f in the system of Tau, which is 12 light-years from Earth. The Mooph are a bioluminescent species of alien Jellyfish Sheep and are the only natural resource on Tau Ceti f.
They are looked after and tended to by the Anouk and protected by the Phylax. The Dawn Patrol is a futuristic nefarious human created by the World Power Syndicates living on the nearby planet of Tau Ceti e, and they are sent out to capture and exploit the Mooph for personal gain by the WPS. As war is unleashed on Tau Ceti f and with a rift of darkness ready to consume the world, it's down to the Anouk and the Phylax to do all they can to stop the Dawn Patrol.

A Provocation for No Hope is the prequel to The Luminescent Guardians and tells the future story of Earth's demise. Humanity having not learnt from its past mistakes has burnt Earth to a barren landscape. Earth's population has had to leave Earth in search of new worlds to inhabit within the galaxies. After countless years of searching, they find the planet of Tau Ceti e to settle and colonise, but as their nefarious instincts start to kick in they realise that Tau Ceti e has insufficient resources for survival, and they embark on a quest looking at nearby planets to search for coveted resources.
The Luminescent Guardians / A story for new hope moves forward from the Provocation of No Hope and is set on Tau Ceti f. The nefarious future humans The Dawn Patrol have discovered the Mooph as a resource worth capturing and selling to the highest bidder. They set out from their home on Tau Ceti e, hoping to capitalise on a planet that has little need for wealth, what they don't expect is the Anouk; a peaceful alien species that are the guardians of the Mooph, to stand in their way and protect the only natural resource on Tau Ceti f.
